China Medical University Beigang Hospital Received the “13th Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards”

China Medical University Beigang Hospital has been working hard for caring the elderly in rural areas. In the competition of the 13th Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards, CMU Beigang Hospital is honored the Bronze Medal in the category of the “Circular EcoBest Sustainability Project Awards-Hospital”, with their efforts in providing professional and friendly healthcare.


CMU Beigang Hospital is the only regional teaching hospital in the coastal area of Yunlin County. It holds the spirit of “quality medical service” and “friendly hospital”, and promotes comprehensive medical services to the rural community. “Once the patients come to our hospital, we start to prepare for the comprehensive services after the discharge. We cooperate with the community long-term care center, provide one-stop services including individual case management, rehabilitation, bathing car, and dementia care, so that the patients will continue to receive care after returning home”, said Superintendent Hsi-Chin Wu.


In addition to providing medical care, the medical personnel of CMU Beigang Hospital also establish a dining hall for the elderly, as well as a lohas station for health promotion. Moreover, the hospital work with a dance group to provide art therapy to the elderly, allowing them to exercise their body to maintain a healthy and happy lifestyle.


Receiving this award shows that the local services and sustainable development of CMU Beigang Hospital is well recognized. CMU Beigang Hospital not only allows the elderly in Yunlin rural area to live a healthy and happy life, but also connects to the world with the sustainable development goal of the United Nations.
