International Cooperation in Chinese Medicine: MoU Signed between CMU and Mae Fah Luang University

On November 17th, on behalf of China Medical University (CMU), Dean Mao-Feng Sun, School of Chinese Medicine, signed MoU through a virtual meeting with Mae Fah Luang University, Thailand, for establishing cooperation in Chinese Medicine. This agreement aims to produce a Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) based on the exchanges in Chinese Medicine and promote the exchanges and cooperation between the two universities, which will strengthen the internationalization of CMU.

 

This international cooperation is supported by the Ministry of Education and is connected to the government’s new southbound policy. During the signing ceremony, Mae Fah Luang University broadcasted a well-produced video to introduce the content of the MOOCs platform, which greatly aroused the participants’ interest.

 

Four lectures will be launched on this MOOCs platform:

  1. “The Wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Life” offered by Associate Dean Hung-Rong Yen, College of Chinese Medicine, China Medical University.
     
  2. “Aromatherapy Massage” offered by The School of Integrative Medicine, Mae Fah Luang University.
     
  3. “Chinese Medicine Acupuncture” co-offered by College of Chinese Medicine, China Medical University and Acupuncture Department, China Medical University Hospital.
    This lecture is organized by Professor Yu-Chen Lee and it combines the basics and the clinical application of acupuncture, which aims to share CMU’s experience in acupuncture to the world.

     
  4. “Understanding Chinese Herbal Medicine” co-offered by China Medical University and Mae Fah Luang University. This lecture will introduce the local herbal medicine in Thailand and their knowledges and application, as well as Taiwan’s herbal medicine and related information.
