Date：February 21, 2020
China Medical University (CMU) took care of a Hong Kong student of National Quemoy University that underwent home quarantine on February 10-24, 2020. To express their gratitude, National Quemoy University sent CMU a pair of “Kinmen Wind Lion” and several Kinmen souvenirs. During the epidemic prevention period, this act brings warmth to everyone in the CMU prevention team.
Since February 11, temporary entry ban is imposed to Hong Kong and Macau residents. Hence, two Hong Kong students that are friends (one of CMU, one of National Quemoy University) took the same flight to Taiwan on the night of February 10. CMU prevention team keep in touch with the students and sent shuttle bus to pick them up in the airport. However, there is no way to return to Kinmen. So the CMU student invited her friend to stay in her apartment temporary. As a result, the CMU school bus drove the two students back to the apartment, and they followed the regulation of home quarantine for 14 days.
“In the period of epidemic prevention, we should help each other and work in unity. Besides, taking good care of students is our responsibility.” said CMU President Mien-Chie Hung.
CMU took care of the students that underwent home quarantine very well, including providing personal hygiene products such as masks, hand sanitizer, thermometers, and providing food delivery service. In addition, faculty members take turns to care for students and send latest information to them through social media. Therefore, the president of National Quemoy University sent gifts to CMU to express their gratitude.
