CMU Won the Privilege for Hosting the 2021 International Congress of International Society for Ethnopharmacology

China Medical University (CMU) has a good reputation for its excellent research in traditional medicine and pharmacology. During the 19th International Congress of International Society for Ethnopharmacology (ISE) in Dresden, Germany, CMU successfully won the hosting right for organizing the ISE 2021. This will be the first time that Taiwan host the ISE International Congress.
Members of the International Society for Ethnopharmacology (ISE) consists of international scholars specialized in traditional medicine, herbs, and plants. It commits to the research, classification, extraction, and quality control of traditional medicine, herbs, and plants, with the aim to improve the medical quality and standard.
Under the instruction of Vice-President Lu-Hai Wang, the representatives of CMU (including Liang-Yo Yang, Dean of Global Affairs; Hung-Rong Yen, Associate Dean of College of Chinese Medicine; Jung Chao, Associate Professor of College of Chinese Medicine) attended the 19th International Congress of ISE on June 12th-14th, 2019. In the congress, Dean Liang-Yo Yang promoted CMU’s research achievements in recent years and the excellent healthcare service of CMUH. Associate Dean Hung-Rong Yen introduced CMU’s outstanding achievement in Chinese medicine, Chinese herbal medicine, and new drug development in the meeting of the board of directors and the general meeting. Associate Dean Yen proposed that CMU is willing to host the 2021 ISE international congress, and Dean Yang stated that CMU is experienced in organizing international conferences and will assist the guests to apply for visas.
CMU’s outstanding research in Chinese medicine, Chinese herbal medicine, and new drug development, and CMUH’s high quality healthcare services is highly recognized in the world. Therefore, in the meeting of the board of directors and the general meeting, CMU stood out and won the right to host the 2021 ISE International Congress.
