Strengthen the Research Energy: China Medical University Recruited Yushan Scholar- French Immunologist Dr. Moncef Zouali

Dr. Moncef Zouali, a world-renowned French immunologist that specialize in lupus treatment, recently join CMU as a Yushan Scholar. With CMU’s strategy of recruiting international scholars, Dr. Zouali came to Taiwan supported by higher education sprout project. The join of world-class experts will surely upgrade Taiwan’s academic and research energy, and enhance the international influence in higher education.
“What brought me here is China Medical University’s excellent performance in academic branding, the president’s forward-looking vision, and its outstanding research teams and well-built facilities”, said Dr. Zouali.
Dr. Zouali has been connecting with CMU since the “Sixth International Conference on B Cells and Autoimmunity” that took place in Taiwan in 2016. During the conference, he met CMU professor Gregory J Tsay and the academic exchanges with Taiwan’s immunology experts had left a great impression to Dr. Zouali. Therefore, when professor Gregory J Tsay invited Dr. Zouali to become the overseas scholars recruited by the “Yushan Project” of the Ministry of Education, he gladly accepted the offer without hesitation.
Dr. Zouali is very pleased to become a member of CMU faculty. Through the collaboration with the international academic and research institutions, the odds for him to pursue cutting-edge breakthrough of science and technology has been greatly increased. Dr. Zouali not only shares his research experiences with CMU students, but also encourages students to find a research topic of their interests which will make contribution to the society. In addition, discussion and communication with others, and hardworking are essential in the process of scientific research. Dr. Zouali belives that exploring the unknown is a happy thing in life. Being open-minded to advices and putting diligent efforts are the key to successful scientific research.
