CMU Held International Conference on Biomedical Sciences & the 15th Symposium of the Frontiers of Biomedical Sciences on June 29th and 30th

On June 29th and 30th, CMU held the International Conference on Biomedical Sciences & the 15th Symposium of the Frontiers of Biomedical Sciences. Well-known scholars including Professor Rudolf Jaenisch, Academician Cheng-Ming Chuong, Professor Frederick W. Alt, Academician Muming Poo, Academician Ann-Shyn Chiang, Professor Douglas C. Wallace, Professor Stephen C. West, Professor Michael Karin, Professor Douglas Hanahan, Porfessor Ronald A. DePinho, Academician Mien-Chie Hung, and CMU chancellor Wen-Hwa Lee joined and presented their research work in this research feast.

The symposium is to enhance the academic corporation between scholars in the field of biomedicine and to strengthen the research quality of Taiwan. The theme this year includes important issues in the biomedical fields nowadays, which are: cancer, stem cell, Immunology, DNA/RNA Biology, neuroscience, metabolism, biochemistry, and HIV/AIDS. 

This is the second time the event is held by CMU. The purpose of the symposium is to trigger Taiwanese biomedical scientist to have further cooperation with the world, to encourage young Ph.D. students and postgraduates to join international academic events and learn from top-notch scholars, to gain good publicity, and to provide biomedical researchers chances to reach for the top and be synced up with the world!
