Academic exchange with Xiamen University Malaysia Campus

China Medical University (CMU) is renowned for its extraordinary innovation and inheritance in Chinese Medicine. When accommodating principal from Xiamen University Malaysia Campus (XMUMC), the school president, Dr. Wen-Hwa Lee expressed his hope to advocate the technology and knowledge of Chinese medicine to overseas through English learning courses in both clinical and experimental segments. Since the academic exchange between XMUMC and CMU, CMU Chancellor expressed his hope to advocate the technology and knowledge of Chinese Medicine abroad, both clinical and experimental units, by using English as the teaching medium.

On 1st of June, president Rui-Fang Wang from Xiamen University Malaysia led a visiting team to CMU for academic exchange. Chancellor Wen-Hwa Lee, Vice President Dr. Fuu-Jen Tsai,  Dean of Academic Affairs Dr. Yueh-Sheng Chen, Dean of College of Chinese Medicine Dr. Hen-Hong Chang, Professor Nou-Ying Tang, Professor Sheng-Teng Huang, Dean of the Center of Continuing Education Associate Professor Shih-Chieh Liao, Associate Dean of Office of International and Public Affairs Dr. Chingju Lin attended the distant guests and discussed about the further cooperation in academic exchange.

Chancellor Wen-Hwa Lee denoted that CMU strives to integrate the different studies in Chinese Medicine with the help of renowned professors and researchers, defining our leading status in Chinese medicine.

Dean of College of Chinese Medicine Dr. Hen-Hong Chang has pointed out that Chinese medicine lecture conducting in English had started in Universidade de São Paulo. President Rui-Fang Wang from Xiamen University Malaysia acclaimed that China Medical University has leading status in the modernization of Chinese medicine, excelling in clinical practice, teaching and research especially in the academic research in acupuncture.

Dean Hen-Hong Chang pointed out that more than 10 bachelor degrees are opened to admission and are recognized by both Malaysia and Republic of China government, providing working opportunities in both countries.

Dean Hen-Hong Chang stated that XMUMC is the first overseas campus set up by a renowned Chinese university and the first Chinese university branch campus in Malaysia. XMU was founded by the Malayan Chinese Mr. Tan Kah Kee in 1921. Now 93 years later, XMU has reciprocated by setting up a campus in Malaysia, where Mr. Tan Kah Kee achieved great success in his career. This is a historic reciprocation.
